Spencerport Junior Baseball is a community organization focused on providing baseball opportunities to our area's youth. We emphasize sportsmanship, leadership and community involvement while playing and teaching the fundamentals of baseball.

Baseball 6U T-Ball

T-Ball is structured to be an introduction to fundamentals using techniques to create a fun and safe environment.  Teams will practice once weekly in a clinic-like structure with players/teams rotating through multiple skill-based stations.  Once weekly all teams will play a game against another team where the focus will continue to be on skill-building and fun.

Game play includes players hitting off a tee for the entirety of the season to build proper swing mechanics.  Game play rules are designed to foster age-appropriate player engagement and skill development.

  • Gender: Boys & Girls
  • Ages: 4-6 years old
  • Cost:
    • $95 Early Bird registrations prior to February 1st
    • $105 for registrations after February 1st
    • Refunds will require a $10 surcharge for all leagues
  • Season: May - June
  • Days of Play per Week: 2 (Monday or Tuesday, Thursday)
    • Teams will alternate practicing on either Monday or Tuesday each week
    • All teams will play a game against another team every Thursday
  • Location: American Legion Fields (691 Trimmer Rd.)
  • Awards: Participation trophies presented to all athletes

Skills and Development

T-Ball is the first introduction to organized baseball for most players.  The primary objective by the end of the season is to ensure that each player has a positive experience with baseball, desires to play again the following year, and has successfully demonstrated the following skills and fundamentals:
  • Warm up techniques
  • Names of defensive positions
  • How to execute a throw
  • Proper fielding position
  • Fielding ground ball fundamentals
  • Catching fly ball fundamentals
  • How to hold a bat properly
  • What to do after the ball is hit (as a batter and a runner)
  • Know how, why and when to run to the next base
